A 22.9 second lap at an average of 0.91 g is nothing short of phenomenal, and again, better than any Mustang here. Because it isn't endowed with supercar horsepower or a twin-clutch automatic transmission, the 1LE does lose out to the most powerful Mustangs in the 0-60 mph sprint, but it's still quicker than the Mach 1.

Oh and by the way, the 1LE is the cheapest car here, too. With a starting price of $51,090, the 1LE isn't just the bargain of the group, it's one of the best performance deals on the market. It has been since 2016
a 1LE is going to get beat by a mach 1 in a straight line. 0-60 is a measure of traction and torque, a useless metric in todays world of 450+ hp cars and emphasis on turning/stopping ability.

and last i checked, the mach 1 was faster than the 1LE around several tracks.

I’d love to see straight line from a dig.
Randy p has a video out there and the Mach 1 did better on a track, the camaro was a bit older with bad brakes. Recently a Mach I Went fast as hell on cup2 and even beat a gt350 r.
Below are more numbers from motortrend and the link.

If it was somehow totaled I would just buy another 1LE to be honest. I have summit white but hot damn I love that rally green. Or that orange if my wife would let me do it but she said not to orange crush.

Camden if you are considering i'd just go new...
I would LOVE rally green. I am going new, just waiting for the car to arrive at the dealership.

Question

The best sport car for the money: Camaro SS1LE, but I'm not sure if it would be able to beat the Mach l in a track?

Would be close. Andy Pilgrim lapped NCM in a SS 1LE at 2:15.6 and in a GT350 at 2:15.1. The Mach has a lot of Shelby parts but less HP with a Coyote vs the Voodoo in the GT350. I have not seen a full head to head Mach 1 vs SS 1LE with a pro driver. That said in my experience the SS 1LE feels more planted and stable in street driving than the Mach 1. Sometimes it feels like the Mustang wants to kill me. Maybe the Cup 2 tires, they seem to wander on the highway. In the real world at a track day for instance, the driver will be the biggest variable.

I was holding out on my order for the Camaro until I saw the Z reviews. I got very suspicious as Nissan's language changed from a Supra-killer, to a dance partner, to a GT-car, to a whatever now. Once I read the reports of it's handling characteristics and all the BS nonsense that was baked into it by Nissan, I bailed and called up my dealer and placed the order immediately. $53k is WAY too much for that car in performance trim. Granted it will make some crazy power quickly with mods, but everything else with it's chassis dynamics is just a no go for me. The Nismo may fix this, but it'll be even more money and won't be worth it's price getting shoved into Corvette and ZL1 territory even.
