Leases are based on what you buy today minus the expected value at the end. Make damn sure they're calculating a high end value.

What happens if your job situation changes and you decide that you want to get back into a Camaro? You should ask the dealership to see if they'll work just as easily with you on it, just in case you have to let your lease go again.

It would be easier, if they just did seasonal leases.

So every 6 months we can swap vehicles in the winter months.

ZL1 for spring summer fall, and Z71 for Winter

I don't have a garage and wouldn't need one then, and it would save storage costs too!

Time to start up a Car Club in your area with membership dues for just that purpose!

Didn't Cadillac have a program like that? You paid like $1300 a month and could switch cars whenever? I wouldn't be surprised if they stopped after noticing how much people abused the cars. Speaking of, I saw a story about a guy that had a Tesla and put it on one of those car rental websites (like an air BnB for cars) and noticed his Tesla sitting at a body shop for an extended period. Turns out the guy that rented the Tesla was taking the parts and replacing them with other parts. I can't imagine trusting some stranger with my car.

Turo... Higher end personal car rental app. Not in a million years.

$1300/month? Why not just rent a car three months at a time?

Always wondered about that service. I don't know what owner would think that's a good idea.

There isn't a chance in hell I would put my higher-HP performance / luxury / muscle / classic car in there and let some schmuck take it for any length of time. I take far too good of care of my stuff to let someone else trash it in the blink of an eye.

If I recall correctly, this car was rented using Turo.

Pass.

Most likely someone that bought more car than they can swing. And I won't lie, I've been there before. My 06 GTO, I bought it new ($26k back then which was a decent price with employee discount) but I was working as a temp worker when I bought it. I've seen some people Uber in full sized trucks, which just had me scratching my head as the amount of gas you're spending, you can't possibly make enough ubering to pay off your gas prices. When I put my house on the market, a lot of people told me that I should Air B&B it, but the idea of having to clean up after the general public, I figured I'd rather sell than deal with that.

I do remember that video. Makes more sense now that it wasn't his, and perfect sense for a rental lol. And if it was rented via Turo (or anywhere else), you'd think they'd have a line on who it is.

I'm eagerly awaiting updates on it, as the guy basically bragged about doing it on social media immediately after, before removing the video (but not before the Internet got its claws on it).

He's a shit-bag and a lobotomy would be in order to prevent further issues.

I have never leased a vehicle, but that right there is a great idea and I'd actually probably do it.
