I gave in to the dark side. That GM builtin M6 bog pushed me over the edge to the A10. Surprisingly I drive this car more than my past manuals and I enjoy longer trips more. The bang-whine-bang-whine-bang is fun at Atco.
But won't most cars feel slow after a HC? For sure the ZL1 is more fun on a mountain road and any road with a curve in it.

That’s another reason I traded-in the ZL1 1LE for the A10. I did not like the manual trans set-up in these cars. Gearing is off & designed more for the track. Funny part is if you owned a ZL1 1LE you would bag for the ZL1 drivability.

I was hoping that by the time this last post was posted, you'd have reported back about an A10 est drive....

Could very well be that your previous cars were all monster's and to impress you it becomes rather difficult. The ZL1 in manual or auto it both hauls hard, 0-60 set time for the manual tranny is 3.7 whereas the auto is 3.5, wouldn't call that a night and day difference. Plus if the automatic is so amazing, than why does 1LE come with a manual tranny only 🤔

Really? Not so much. I’ve never asked for a Gen 6 ZL1. I had a 13 ZL1 and a 15 Z/28 at the same time.ZL1 felt soft to me always. Some might like that. It’s ok with me. Everyone doesn’t hate the ZL1 1LE like you.

Everybody knows it's HIGH TIME GM builds a solid PDK-like Transmission. With great automatic driving capability but top level manual response.
But since we know GM like the rest of the big 3 is a bunch of penny pinchers, that will probably never happen in the Camaro. I have inside info that the C8 will indeed have no torque converter automatic OR clutch-stick-manual. Leaving the only option a DCT. That said, the A10 is EXTREMELY impressive and I don't care what transmission you're used to. The only people I would advise against the A10 is for the most hardcore of the hardcore track guys. If the OP was disappointed with the ZL1, then he'd better be banking on spending $200,000 or more for a McLaren or Ferrari or possibly a high-tier Porsche. Because anything less is a downgrade. I didn't bother to read all 6 pages so I'm not sure which aspect we're disappointed with here...If it's purely just straight-line acceleration, go test a Vette or buy a 720S. Don't be fooled by the "feeling" the Hellcat gives you with a 275 tire and lax TC, the "insanity" is greatly magnified. The ZL1 will be doing the same acceleration but quietly and smoothly with much less drama. Much like an exotic. |

No I haven’t owned one. I OWN one. It’s on my avatar and signature. Great question though.

Line-up your M5 @ 80 and it will pull your 1LE. I know because it happen to me. My A10 destroyed the same M5. As I said the gearing sucks.
