Availability and cost are a problem for Mobil 1 ESP 0W-40. Until the big-box stores start carrying it, it's likely less expensive to change to 15W-50 for track and then back to 5W-30 for street.
At my local Walmart, Mobil 1 15W-50 and 5W-30 (5 quart) is only $22.88. The list price on Mobil 1 ESP 0W-40 (1L) is $11.32. For 5L (~5 quarts) that's $56.60. It can be found for less online, but that usually involves a shipping charge which is going to still result in a price much higher than $22.88 for 5 quarts. I love the thought of having a single oil that's good for street and track duty, but if the price is double+, it negates the benefit.

If the 15W50 and the 5W30 are both approved, I wonder if a half and half mix would get you a 10W40 for the summer that is Dexos certified?

I don’t remember cost but I use Valvoline SynPowerTM MST 5W-40 for both.

For the V6?
Not to hijack the thread, but has there been any update on the oil for the LGX? About to have to do an oil change and I've been debating between the normal 5W-30 or using the SynPowerTM 5W-40 as it's on sale for $5 a quart at my local NAPA. I probably want to avoid the 0W-40 with incoming summer temps and the possibility for increased volatility right?

Cool. I am excited to hear the answer. I think it will be cool to hear them explain the differences/benefits and what not.

Dealership used it in my car @ 1800 miles. I will run it for daily and all track days, as well as send off to Blackstone for analysis..

Did your car come with it? Did dealer install when they changed it over to 0w40? Did you buy it? What's the story?

Thank you. I wasn't sure if the '18 ZL1's had switched over to the 0w40.

Patiently waiting as well.
Seeking information about the asterisk. Perhaps not suitable for A1Z in a track application? https://www.camaro6.com/forums/images/attach/png.gif
