Sway Bar Bracket Bushing Fit
I have a camaro 1LE and I ordered a set of front stock sway bar brackets and bushings. Looking up the parts they seem correct. However, the bushings seem too big for the bracket and would need some force to be pressed in which doesn't seem right. Anyone know if this is expected?
Here are the part numbers: Bushing: 22761218 Right bracket: 22831253 Left bracket: 22757041 |

They are like that. I just ordered some z28 bars that come with the bushings already mounted. I believe mine were like yours. The bushings are mechanically locked to the bar. Once tightened down they don't want to move. Even not tightened you can't move them by hand.

I removed the old parts and the brackets are different. The bracket on the car is bigger and the bushings fit inside. Unfortunately, there are no part numbers on the stock brackets so I have no idea which part to order.
Part I received on top. Stock part on the bottom. The bushing part number is correct. Fit of new bushing inside old bracket: |
