I’m waiting for a poster of a Ford Panther Crown Vic Police Interceptor, lights flashing, pulling over a Panther Camaro CE. Ford’s Panther platform included all the full-size body-on-frame Ford, Mercury and Lincoln V8 sedans from the 1990s through 2011. I’ve been a Camaro fan since 1967, and the car’s association with the Panther name was unknown to me until this week.

Same here...I had never heard of it either. A name they used for a program but never for the car is a historical fact but I don't see it as anything to get all sentimental or excited about. They made the right choice calling it a Camaro, but now a never-used second choice name is supposed to be something special? I don't see it.

Several paint colors were always available at a higher price for the Camaro and Corvette over the years. Panther just seems like a way to make a black paint-job somehow collectable and historically significant and more expensive.

It makes sense to those of us that are true Camaro enthusiasts. I'd argue that if you can't understand why they're calling it the "Panther", then you're not a true Camaro fan/enthusiast or you just like complaining on the internet.

Well, I am one of the few that actually works in the business. I'm not some moron with a youtube channel(lethal) or a forum poster that just thinks they know everything. I'm 100% certain that when it comes to Camaro, I'm way smarter than you.
