Yep. No contest between a 1LE and a Skat Pack Challenger on an autocross course.

you should hit him with a challenge as a joke, find a wide sweeping turn and see who could hold the highest speed on it.

I agree 100%. Not really a Civic guy but the R is a wicked little car. If you can get one without the insane mark-up it's a pretty good deal for the money.

not really.
you couldn't get it much lighter, and certainly no shorter. Camaro has a world class chassis.

It's a bit of a mind-****. I had a 2010. I noticed when I got in the 2018 how it was definitely smaller inside. I also notice in my garage the big gaps front and rear where it obviously doesn't take up as much space. The front overhang is non-existent.

But you look at it, it still looks "huge". Maybe it's the oversize 20" wheels, but it doesn't "look small", despite being significantly smaller than the last one.

i had a great picture of a 67' and a 2016 side by side, but lost it in a computer reboot. definitely wider, but those old cars had very slim doors. but length wise the 6 is only a couple inches longer, fenders much taller which gives it the bigger more muscular look.

Man, Camaro is the same length and wider than 2011 Ford Fusion (4 door sedan!) I replaced...

I would never call a front wheel drive hatchback with a 4-cyilnder engine a "race car". This doesn't mean it can't be fast and nimble and relatively lightweight, it's just not a race car in my books.

Is there even a definition for this? Seems like this classification is completely subjective anyway, but a "good car" or "fast car" still isn't necessarily a "race car". Even the ZL1 1LE isn't a proper race car. The Tesla Model S Plaid did a 7:35.9 on the Nürburgring, yet who would call that a race car.

Yes, a car designed to be competitive in performance in it's class that you can beat/thrash over and over again. Basically, a car designed to race.

scat (interj.)

"filth, dung," by 1950, from Greek stem skat- "dung" (see scatology).

Technically I'd say a race car is a car designed, built and used for competitive racing. In other words not a street car, although certain street cars could be raced or tracked.

There have been many spec race car series in the scca. Some less than 200 hp, but still race cars.
