‘23 Camaro End order date

Hi all,

I’m new to the forums but have been saving up money for a Camaro for awhile now. I recently found out the ‘23 model orders are ending soon which I did not know. Does anyone have an actual set date as to when “my order” would switch from a ‘23 model to a ‘24 (Havent went through the allocation process at all yet) Also any idea on what the price hike would be? I’m hoping if I had to go the final model year it wouldn’t put me out of my price point. Any advice or large dealerships selling at msrp would be helpful!

Thanks for the help in advance.

My goal is to get a 2024, but the tea leaves told me to order and not wait. So, the dealer placed it a week ago and I'll see what happens. Don't know whether it'll roll automatically into a '24 if it doesn't make the '23 allocation cut.
It's a V-8 and we know how the General hates doling them out anymore.

It will not automatically roll to a 24. You have to reorder.

This!...When my 2022 ZL1 got stolen from the plant in Lansing I had to re-order..and it had to be a 2023 since production of the 2022's were ramping down at that time

Going to be interesting to see just how many 24's get built. I have had a ZLE ordered for six months, doubtful it will get built with the constant constraints and even less optimistic if it gets moved to a 24. I think they are just going to build enough to clean out their parts bin and call it a day, a five month production run and holiday shut downs mean slim pickens. Just ordered an LT1, don't care if it's a 23 or 24 figured it would be easier to get. My guy at my local dealer has fifteen sold camaro orders wating for TPW's, he says it's averaging nine months for a 2SS1LE from order to delivery and he's at a high allocation dealer.

The issue is that the dealer has 15 sold orders waiting, I contacted Criswell Chevrolet in Gaithersburg, MD initially which has always been a high volume dealer and the sales person simply said they had like at least 6 orders for ZL1 1LE's waiting as well as other orders for SS 1LE's and flat out told me that I had no chance of ordering and getting a 2023 2SS 1LE and a 50/50 chance at a 2024. I placed my order at a high volume dealer that had an allocation open in March, was the first order in line, and it's in transport to the dealer so a little over 2 months when it's said and done. High volume dealer 1st order in line and open allocation along with no constraints at that moment that was the game changer vs going down on a list or waiting for an allocation. I talked to 7 to 8 dealers before finding the one with the open allocation.

OP, my suggestion would be to contact high volume dealers and ask all of your questions, if you place an order would there be other orders ahead of yours, do they have an open allocation or if they expect to get one soon, make sure that if you would order that your price would be at MSRP, and any other questions you might have. You will get round about answers dodging the straight forward answer from some car salespeople and honest answers from others. Cast your net wide on dealers around you and how far you're actually willing to drive to get your car. I personally used the Chevrolet build and price then on the summary page about mid way down there's Request a Quote link, fill out your information and zip code for a dealer search within a certain radius, you can select up to 3 dealers and send your request. If you want do that a couple of times over to different dealers around you.

Sounds like your dealer took an order for an allocation they don't have. Did you ask if they had any allocations, or how many were ordered ahead of you?

Doesn't even necessarily have to be a high volume dealer, just an honest one. The dealership I ultimately bought mine from only sells a couple of Camaros a year, and in fact mine was the first 1LE model they had seen in several years. I spoke with the salesperson in February of 2022 and he didn't have an allocation available, but promised to contact me when he did. Sure enough, in April he called me to let me know they were getting an allocation and wanted to know if I was still in the market. He had to confirm that he could get me what I wanted, which took a few days, but once he let me know they could get the model/trim I was looking for, I went down that same day and put in the order. Didn't have anything official until I put in the order, but my salesperson was honest with me, and they knew I was serious. Also, since the dealership doesn't sell that many Camaros, I was the only one waiting to order the car, so I didn't have to compete with anyone else for their limited allocations.

Whole lotta truth there.I know for sure there are dealers that placed sold orders only to tell the customer they couldn't get the allocation then sell the built order for retail ++. Luckily i have been buying cars from my local dealer for the last 25 years and they are trustworthy. I would be concerned when placing an out of state order with one i have not established a prior relationship with.

Geese1,
I too skipped the big dealers. I went to the Toyota/Chevy dealer about 35 miles away. As soon as I heard Chevy was killing the Camaro in mid-March 23, I found this site and having owned 3 Z28's and Camaro LT. I needed to order a F$#* you V8 6M before they go away. 3/28 I called the dealer, ask about an allocation for a 2SS-1LE. 3/30 (Thursday is allocation day) and they stated they had a Camaro allocation. And on the spot I gave him my build wish list 2SS-1LE 6M VOM, SR, Nav, Fuzzy-Np's, S-brace, O-cover. He tells me he can't guarantee the build and hung up. Dealer put it in workbench after the call, the same afternoon the dealer called and told me that GM accepted the build as per my build order. 4/10 I received a TPW of 5/1 and the care was built 5/5. Today they told me a delivery date of 6/5 or sooner as the car is on the move enroute to the dealer.
