Lift block bending during lift

Hi all,

I just did my first oil change and it was a bit sketchy. I lifted the car up from the zl1addon blocks and I noticed the block was bending towards the door as the car was being lifted. I can’t center the lift point on my Daytona Jack with the lift pad so I have to use the putter portion of Jack to lift. If I go from the center the Jack ends up hitting the side skirt. If I put a block of wood in there I feel like it will slip. What are you guys using?

I just use ramps. I never lift the car for an oil change.

Are you sure the jack pads are fully bottomed out on the pinch rail? I’ve never had any problems lifting with them. Maybe you should double check that.

I agree with making sure the pads are fully seated in the pinch rail.

I've used mine for years taking the tires on and off and never had a problem.

What I do is lay down and slowly raise the jack to the pad but roll it back and forth so I can center the lift point with the jack then start to raise the car after that.

Try putting a hockey puck on your jack pad to keep it from hitting your side skirt…

Thank you all for your responses. It was a rookie mistake on my behalf. Lifting these cars on pavement is never a good idea. My Jack was never moving forward as the car was being jacked up causing the pad to push towards the car. I tried it on the concrete floor and the pad stayed in the same position the whole time while the while wheels moved forward
