I see you're in SoCal. My sales associate from Rydell in Northridge told me plainly they only markup ZL1 Camaros.

Err, I can say the East coast is awesome. I've been waiting at the top of the allocation list since December. Started looking 150 miles out, found a dealer with a car available. They honored MSRP, threw in a $750 rebate and supplier discount. Moreover, here I usually check and find marketing essays examples because that's how to make good deals. And in a short time - car in my garage, I mean deals are out there, or Idk, but at least, I haven't had any issues.

Yeah being in CA is disadvantageous, bringing a car from out of state is purposely problematic. First off most non left coast states don’t order the copper free brakes for the ZL1’s. Problem one, problem two is that even though dealers out of state tell me all Camaro’s meet 50 state requirements for emissions, I don’t believe them. There is a specific CA order number. Possibly the worst problem in my mind anyway, is the fact that CA forces you to smog a brand new vehicle you bring from out of state, regardless of whether the window sticker says it’s a fifty state car. Once that happens you have to smog it every two years. Buy in CA and you don’t smog it until the eighth year. Just saying if someone was to do some mods, you’d have eight years of enjoyment, not that I would ever do that…..
Yes I paid a markup, a lot less than the Redeye I was thinking about. |

If you have one built, you don't have to deal with the markups, right?

Not if you have an agreed on price on a signed contract!

Really depends on the dealer and most importantly which model you are looking to build. The probability of getting a top dog Camaro at msrp at this point is slim to none. I think you’d have a better chance looking for the car you want on the Chevy website and give the dealership a call. You never know, your dream Camaro might be sitting on a lot, having not sold.

I bought a new ZLE on Monday and I had to pay 10k markup. To me, it was worth it, since I don't want to risk my original order placed last year not actually being built.
It was the only ZLE within 1,000 miles (granted I am in California, so there is nothing to the west). It was only on the lot for 1-2 days before I locked in the deal, and there were several other people looking to buy it even at the requested markup.

I was finally able to purchase a 2023 1SS / 1LE Simpson Chevrolet Garden Grove!
I was just able to purchase a 2023 1SS / 1LE from Simpson Chevrolet in Garden Grove, CA! They took great care of me and price was MSRP minus $1250.00 for military discount and GM Discount!
If you're in the SoCal area check them out! I never thought I'd have a great time buying a car but it was an exceptional experience! My salesman Ed Loera spent hours teaching me about the car and signing up the apps and navigation! Thank you Ed and thank you Team Simpson Chevrolet!

I was hoping to have a 2023 Camaro SS/1LE built. I found this to be hard done than said. I went to Simpson Chevrolet in Garden Grove, CA and they took good care of me! I didn't get the Radiant Red car I wanted built but I was able to get everything on a 2023 Shadow Grey 1SS/1LE. I must admit that I've fallen for the Shadow Grey color too!
