A Day at the Strip

Hi All , took the Z out 1st time with her. I had my 22 1SS last year in the Series.
Summit ET Racing Series at Wildhorse Pass MS Park in Chandler Arizona.
Try to keep it short .
1st time trial pass , everything off in Track mode (race) 22 or 25 tire pressure, spun bad blipped throttle ran ran 12.72 @ 122
So I figured turn on Stab track Trac Control, tour mode 19 tire pressure, 10am 65 deg. 11.45 @ 123 mph ,( same settings all day.)
2nd ttp 12:45 pm 78 deg. 11.59 @ 122.9 RT .007
Time to Dial in (11.60)
2:41pm 82 deg. Ran a 11.66 @ 121.6 perfect lite
2nd round Dial 11.68 4:32pm 84 deg. (had to run my buddy Pat dang we tried to stay apart)
I dang Big Red -.023 soon as I seen red I back out ,then I hit it again, shouldn't of at that point .
11.70 @ 120.3 .
Prior to last year w SS , I haven't been down the strip in 21 years, I was nervous kinda overwhelmed, but rekindled fun
I need to figure out how much I will be going out , and they may close the Track (still up in the air) .If they do ,then it's Tucson Raceway, 2. 1/2 hr drive each way and that's too far to drive on the Drag Pak , then I need a trailer and truck .

Next Question what rear wheel size (17") and what bs and offset. MT Drag Radial 305x 45-17
Thanks guys

I use that exact rear wheel with the MT ET street R, not the SS 305 45 17.

Car looks great. You guys aren’t blessed with the good air like we have on the east coast but looks like you had a lot of fun!

Hi all, had a good day at the Drags, Wildhorse Pass MS Park, Summit ET Racing Series race 6, I just can't get a handle on the E throttle, such a delay, I'm way late so I roll in a tad bit deeper and RL by a bunch. Did make it to the 3rd tho ,
Car is consistent 11.55 @ 124.4 tires @ 20 psi, TC & Stabil Control on Tr mode.
Is there something I'm missing, like my brain
My 68 Camaro ran 11.0 and could cut .030 under lites consistently. Any suggestions. Thanks

Getting quicker, I'm running the RC Components Bandit drag pack. The fronts are 17x4.5 (15.8 lbs) and 17x10 (19.5 lbs), I run a MT 27.5 tall bias up front and a 28x10 Hoosier in the rear. The 17x10 will be perfect for you 305-35-17 MT Street Rs

If you do skinnies, the et street front matches the 305 R perfectly
They are light for a radial, at 18lbs

Hey JTS, Must have missed you. I ran Wildhorse and Tucson. In Feb. and March just before the big guys showed up at Wildhorse. I guess next year when I'm down there I'll spend most of the time at Tucson drags. If you're out and see a S-10 John Deere green and yellow, that's my brother-in-law. Enjoy the sun up here we're to start racing April 29-30 at Byron Il. If it doesn't snow or rain.

Small world, your Bro in law was there yesterday, the Deere colors stand out.
If they do close Wildhorse, Tucson Raceway is a 2. 1/2 hr drive one way 165 miles, don't think I'm gonna commit to that. I was thinking buying a trailer , but have to get a truck as well then I'm around 50k and add a Drag Pack at 5 k. Just don't know if it's gonna transpire.

Race # 7 &8 May 20 , June 17 are nite races, then the season is over too hot.
Enjoy your season of Drags.

Not sure why you think its 5k for a drag pack, you should be able to do that for 1/2. I think I spent around 2200.00 for the RC 17x4.5 and 17x10s. That's for a non dod with the MT skinnies and Hoosiers slicks. I think the wheels were about 1300 shipped. You don't need bead locks if that's what your thinking, they are heavy and a waste of money.

Thanks laynol , I know I was on the high side for a Drag Pak, but if the local track closes, 5 hours round trip to Tucson Raceway I can't justify driving . And as stated above used truck and trailer 50k that as well can't justify.

Correct, my 20' Heartland steel trailer was 4100.00, I got a really good buy since they are normally about 4800.00. Nice used truck 45,000 or even a new Chevy Sliverado Lt you can buy for that with a 5.3 or another 1000.00 a 3.0 Diesel like mine.
