LSD options

Hello. What is everyone using for their LSD in regards to the Drag Strip. I see that Eaton only made the TRU-TRAC through 2015 for the Camaro. I thought I saw a helical gear LSD from Yukon and then another from another company that I've never heard of.

Thanks

Yup, they hold up to a lot of HP, big HP. You'll probably break an axle or driveshaft before the diff.

Can confirm the DS breaks before the diff.

Thanks for the reply. I see now the diff itself is strong. My concern was if the diff is like most std limited slip diffs that use clutch plates that eventually wear out especially if drag racing. I know the tru-trac which was a huge player on the 2010-2015 camaro ss, uses a helical gear type lsd and doesn't use clutch plates. Just curious about the current "type" of LSD in camaros and why Eaton doesn't make a tru-trac for the 6th gen camaro.

So I had a 2016 SS with a Magnuson 2300 then a 2650. I had about 280 passes on the stock diff. Fluid was changed with about 1000 miles because the clutches were making noise when turning. Many had the same issue, it had something to do with the original fluid not being up to the task. I never had any issues after that. When I sold it in 2020 it also had 12500 miles on it plus the 280 passes down the track. The guy I sold it to put at least another 50 to 60 passes plus some street time and he finally broke the diff. at a street car takeover, the track was extra sticky and he had a feeling it was going to break on the next pass and it did. So the Lsd is pretty dam stout for sure. I did have DSS axles and DSS chromoloy driveshaft. Any can break but I think mine was a perfect example of how much power it can take over and over and over again. Don't be scared.

I think they stopped with the 2015 model because the ring gear is welded to the carrier starting with the 2016 Camaro SS models as shown in the pictures in this thread.
