This thread makes me feel like I'm way out of my league in here.
Every upgrade done was extremely specific based on real track experience.
I suspect you're an engineer also ?

Very impressive.

I'm curious what caused the motor to get hurt that day.
Were you using the E blend ?

My thinking about this thread was "wow, so many mods, so much time and efforts spend".

More I track my 1LE - more I think "wow, GM engineers made it so track capable from the factory - just following HP supplement guidance is enough to compete with 911s"

I might have been an engineer in another life. But this life I'm just a manufacturing supervisor.

What caused the motor to get hurt was an over Rev situation caused by me ( bent some valves, Bottom end is still ok.)

I do run pump E85 from the local gas station

Engine Mods came due to some bent valves. And if I'm going to open the motor up for repairs I might as well go all out

My car also isn't a 1le, Just a Base v8. Reason I didn't get the 1le was just pricing and knowing I wasn't going to keep the car stock.

The chassis may compete with stock 911's but when I'm trying to chase down modified gt3's and gt2's in my class. I need all the help I can get.

I ran Putnam last September, it was a fun track (close to home). Probably go back this September.

You are lucky to be close to Putnam, that track is a blast to drive. The roads to get.to Putnam though, not so much fun with a trailer.

Well this past weekend was full of excitement!

I started installing my GPI cam and Katech oil pump. I am doing this with the motor still in the car. So if you are wondering YES you can remove the oil pan with the motor in the car.

You will need to remove the motor mounts and jack the car up by the front of the trans to get enough angle for the pan to drop out.

Everything was going pretty smooth. until I got to the cam retainer bolts.

3 out of the 4 retainer bolts had stripped out. plus my extractor broke off in one of them! so after hours of carefully drilling, heating, swearing, and praying. I was able to get them all removed!!!

Most exciting part for me was finding out what kind of cam was in this car already.

Out with the old BTR spec comp Cams supercharger Cam.

In goes the GPI Track attack cam! Ready to make some Jam!

Also No idea why my photos are turning 90degrees.

Here's some pictures showing how I "Pulled" the radiator out.

I unbolted it and brought it underneath the upper radiator support.
