Jim, I have both types.....they type that is active while I'm home (both manually activated by either SIG, CZ or my alarm system) and away. I my builder install all the sensors when I built my house about 5 years ago.....them had a local alarm company install the rest of it when the house was finished.....its all monitored for both break in and fire. the cost....I pay $85/qtr ($349/yr).

I have the arlo pro as a home security. It sends me message when it detects motion and has 2-way speakers as well. Though I noticed it sends false notifs. I found this post sumwhere, on wifi cameras comparison. I found out their batteries have the tendency to drain quick too. But Resolution wise, it's good.

Holy shit! I researched this and while it’s not literally everyday it’s ALOT!

Around here, they've just resorted to pulling on vehicle door handles, which is smart actually. Only taking weapons and money it seems. It many cases when caught it's minors that just get returned to their parents, rinse repeat. I have a theory that the parents are actually sending them.

Also, there is a security system called D.O.G. It has only two weak spots:

1. It barks.
2. It requires food.
