does turbo cylinder deactivation with automatic trans

Does the 4 cylinder have cylinder deactivation with the auto trans? I know the manual does not.

I don't think so. Not for the Camaro at least. Doesn't it do that stupid shit for the ATS/CTS though?

No. I think the 2.7L turbo used on trucks is the only 4 cylinder turbo with cylinder deactivation.

So the thing in the trucks chugs on only 2 cylinders when AFM kicks in? Does it still run smoothly enough?

No, the 2.7t is a CSS engine with LMH camshaft design. It ejects pins that grab the camshaft, slide the cam to lower or higher valvelift depending on what you’re doing to the pedal.

Never known of a forced induction engine that had cylinder deactivation.

Indeed, but apparently it does also shut down two of the four cylinders. Very interesting.

Agreed. Kind of convoluted as its not a traditional AFM as the function is driven by the sliding cam modes. But yes, i should rephrase, it does have AFM, just not typical AFM everyone is used to. But you are correct, it does power by 2 cylinders at that time.

No, the 6th Gen Camaro 2,0L LTG engine does NOT have cylinder deactivation, both with or without the automatic transmission.

See you!!,
