I ordered a 2SS back in January and I got confirmation that the car was built yesterday. I am so excited! I know I’m probably at least a month out from actually seeing my car, but I am curious what the next steps are. What happens to the car between now and when it ships out? Is it ready to go now? Or does it have to go through some QC inspections before it is ready to ship? Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Shipping to the contiguous states should be faster, but Canadian orders have a 2-month delivery backlog and growing.

The truth is what pitrott1 described in the picture above. Once it is completed it will be shuffled around to various holding lots. If it needs a part, it can sit for a long time. I have one 2SS 1LE that was produced mid January and it sat in the west holding lot off Davis hwy for awhile. Just recently it moved to the Melvindale train station lot (next to Detroit) to sit for awhile longer until the final shipment can be figured out. It has been four months since it was built.

I have another one on order that was built the first week of May and was moved from the factory lot in the picture above (S. MLK jr. blvd) to the north holding lot off W. Willow Street where it sits now. There are many holding lots around Lansing. There is no telling how long that one will wait in a holding lot until the next stage in shipping.

After it’s built I’d say on average with no part’s shortage for your car month to month and a half. Mine was built at end of April and currently has an ETA of 5/27. Last check it was awaiting shipment at New Boston Rail Yard lot, it’s been just short of a week.

My car was built on a Tuesday and hit my dealers lot that Saturday. I was the exception, not the rule, but it can happen. Good luck.

This was my experience. I had no parts on backorder. You being in Maryland, most likely it will be coming by train. CSX main Line. New Boston MI to Cumberland MD. Dest. Jessup MD. CSX Jessup Auto Distribution Center. Then Cassens Transport to your dealer if in Maryland.

Thanks for the info. As far as I know, there are no back ordered parts. I did drop the side skirts and front diffuser from the order because they were on constraint. Mine will be delivered to Criswell in G’burg eventually. Where did you buy yours?

My 2SS was built the week of April 10th and delivered May 11th, in southern Ontario.

May depend on if it gets shipped by rail or not. I am in East Tn and mine came by truck. Built mid January and I had it January 31.

Just a quick update. My car was built on May 16, and I was able to bring it home on May 31! I love the car. Already have 500 miles on it!!!

Mine is scheduled to begin production time day after tomorrow. I know it might not start on the 12th, but sometime during next week. I would love to get it by month's end like you did. ����
