With the stock V4/v8 switch, are there are side effects in leaving it stock? Personally I don't mind when it runs in V4 mode.

Get an inline on/off switch.

Google AFM or DOD lifter failure and then you can decide if you want to risk it. After a lot of use in the locked out mode (4/6 cylinder), the lifters become worn and will stick in the locked out mode.

Manual trans cars have the same engine/hardware, but there is no wiring from the car to the engine and its turned off in the ECM. Since the lifters are never actuated into locked mode, they don't wear therefor, the manual cars don't see the lifter failure like automatics do.

Whoever the administrator is for camaro6 should permanantley run and ad for these things as a public service to 6th gen owners everywhere. Just found out about these and purchased mine today without hesitation.

If you don't have the NPP exhaust option your car won't be as loud as one so equipped IMO.
