SOI tables, sanity check

Okay, so you'll have to forgive me if I'm a little off here, as I've been trying to do some deep diving on SOI/ EOI education as much as possible as I attempt to dial in my new setup.

Stock redline has been retained as I am running up to full 6600 at any given point.

Current injector pulse widths are hanging around 4.8-4.9 MS at redline

6600 RPM x 720 degrees of crank rotation = 4,752,000
4,752,000/60,000 milliseconds = 79.2
79.2 x 4.8 INJ PW MS = 380.16 SOI (and/ or) 79.2 x 4.9 INJ PW MS = 388.08 SOI

Is this right? Am I really needing to jack up my SOI that high?

I never see numbers that high. I’ve always thought of SOI in relation to EVC events since if you raise SOI too high you’ll be spraying with the exhaust valve open. Maybe King or TooHighPSI will chime in, but usually around 370 is the most I’ve seen.

I have seen some cam cars run as high as 405. Most stock/mild cam stuff does best in the 360-380 range. Remember there is an Alcohol adder table...just because your SOI table is 35x stock doesn't mean that is where it will be with Ethanol. It will jump up another 15 with E unless that able is Zero'd out.

Good info, King. I always forget about the E adder.

I did notice the alcohol adder table and saw it had data within it. Would it be best to zero that out that way there is a single point of reference similar to the way you zero out other adder tables for timing?

I saw the table yesterday as I was doing a deep dive into all of the available parameters. I didn't realize the PCM actually referenced that table despite the fact it had parameters built into it.

I'm really having a good time trying to break down the E92 PCM myself for a change and with help from you fine folks amongst others it helps explain things in a much more simple way for me to understand.
