Roadside Prep Gear

Still learning the ins and outs of my new SS 1LE. I intend to eventually get some Conti DWS 06 Plus's on it, this is my first car with OEM run-flats. Looked under my trunk panel at the inflator kit. Looks like there are some empty slots in the Styrofoam probably for a bottle or scissor jack and a lug/crank. There's a minimal amount of space to work with under this panel. Just an compressor and a bottle of slime/goo.

Have any of you furnished this area with additional gear/tools etc for practical use in a roadside emergency or flat tire? I'm willing to keep a small first aid kit and maybe a tool roll in the trunk area but generally prefer to keep things tucked securely out of sight when I can. Curious to hear what others provision in their cars for this purpose, what fits, where to put it, what is considered most useful given the limitations.

Subscribed for replies. The only item I currently have earmarked is a spare kit from modernspare.com

I ditched the OE ROF's for the new Conti Extreme Contact 02

Nice summer tire
less road noise and way less NVH over bridge expansion joints etc

Good find on the modernspare kit. Will that fit in the well under the trunk board if I take all the styrofoam out? The description kind of indicates that it won't.

I got one of these for my old DeVille that intermittently/frustratingly draws the battery down. https://www.amazon.com/GOOLOO-GT3000...st_sto_dp&th=1 The project farm guy recommended it, I love his head to head comparisons. I also have a Chlore JNC660 that I've used more to help random stranded people than myself.

Similar to above post, I carry this battery jumper in my daily driver.

Thanks guys for the reminder and recommendations. I have always wanted to get one of those. I just ordered both units off Amazon for two of my cars. The Type S had a 10% off coupon.

The Goodyear F1 Supercar 3 tires that are OEM on the SS 1LE are not run-flat tires, so no need to change them if not having ROFs is your only concern. That's why there's tire sealer and an inflator in the trunk.

The SS without the 1LE package has Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric tires which are run-flats, so it doesn't come with sealer or an inflator.

Yes, as said above the OEM Goodyear SC3's are not runflats.

Good info on a jack that fits in the molded styrofoam with a pinch weld touchpoint. I wonder if the one from my old WS6 jack would work? I'll have to try it.

Seems all the cool new jump packs use LiPo (Lithium Polymer) batteries making them very small and versatile (USB charging, can somehow siphon enough juice off a main battery that is nearly dead to burst enough CCA to jump, etc). I think it's recommended to charge them up every 3-6 months if they're unused. Probably need to read up on how to maintain their longevity.

In my truck I keep a cheap 12VDC impact tool. HF makes one and there's a couple on Amazon, if nothing else just for speed in case I'm in a bad/busy traffic spot (scary memories from a bypass in Denver once). And there are nice little cases with like three double ended "through" sockets for the six most common lug sizes, smaller than your palm.

If you're trying to repair a puncture, I expect you'd likely have to remove the wheel just to get at the affected area. I really don't want to fill my wheel with goo, I heard its a pain to deal with when you finally get the tire replaced.
