SS Springs on a v6 Rs

Has anyone swapped springs from a 6 gen SS without magnetic ride to a 6 gen RS?

My thinking is that since the SS is a little bit heavier maybe the springs will be a bit stiffer in the corners.

Those that have done it, what are your thoughts? TIA

Have you looked at the V6 1LE? If I recall correctly, it used the suspension from the base SS. So it may be worth researching people's feeling on that to get a general idea of how the swap would feel.

I never did the swap, so I can't add any more the the discussion.

It might also change the ride height. Maybe some of the other V6 1LE suspension components will would help you achieve what you’re looking for if you don’t already have them installed on your car?

The front springs are specific to the engine weight, transmission type, and suspension tune. Lots of different springs came on these cars. See here.

I'd try swapping in FE3 parts for a V6 1LE to eliminate the possibility of a ride height that's too high. That way you could also eventually change springs, front and rear sway bars, front struts, sway bar links, toe links, rear shocks, then SS tires and wheels and maybe even some of the suspension braces that are on the V6 1LE. There's more specific info here. I seem to remember that the V6 1LE has the same front springs as what you already have, but I'd double check that.

I have 1SS shocks and rear springs with BMR front springs (and 1SS front/rear sway bars) in case any of you are looking to try it out.

I'm in Gainesville, GA

Would probably be a nice upgrade

While the V6 1LE has the FE3 suspension, I believe it is slightly different than the one on the SS (like maybe different spring rates or something) due to different car weights.

I'd go either that route or aftermarket. But I'm curious what your goal is here.

v6 1LE does have specific front springs, the rear springs are the same as the SS. I bought both and they had different part numbers, ended up using neither and used Eibach Pro.

I'm thinking new project and it would be great to know the spring rates without having all the trial and error.
