It's all about preference and the goals you have for your car. I had 24's on my 5th gen SS automatic because it was going to be a cruiser. I got my 18' in m6 because I am going to be adding performance to it so I decided to get 20" flow-formed wheels for it's light weight benefits.

Call me weird, but I would take a 18x8 / 18x10 or 17x10 setup over 20's all day. All you do is increase the tire size to off set the smaller wheel and it fills in the wells the same. I like more tire and a little less wheel. Don't get me wrong, I am still running my PVD coated 20's and they look good enough I haven't felt the need to change them out yet.

One of my friends recently bought a built Audi with 21s and almost immediately dumped them and went smaller. It was like driving on railroad tracks when I took a ride with him...

20’s are where it’s at. It’s a nice median between the 18’s and 21’s.

MRR wheels

I'd have liked to stay at 18" but the $$ made me go to 19" for a wheel that clear brembo's. I dropped 28 lbs of rolling mass, this "Why" anyone should do aftermarket wheels, for the performance benefits. 20-22" hurt gearing as well.

I sometimes think I should have gotten the Apex wheels when they were doing the group buy vs the exhaust. 19" would have helped out with performance and weight a lot, even though the Camaro is a weekend car for me.

as for Corvette owners I find it to be incorrect, we provide wheels to many corvette owners and depending on the year the largest size for the front is either a 19x10 or 19x10.5 front, rears are 20x12 for grandsport /Z06
but basically 20" rear wheel.
as for Camaros 20" is the largest but I have seen a occasional 22"

What do you find incorrect? That I've seen many corvette owners put larger wheels on all the time and tons of aftermarket looks? Or that I've seen plenty of vettes with 21" wheels?

So a Bugatti Chiron and Lamborghini Aventador offer dimished performance due to their 21" wheels?

I get the lack of tire options though, it certainly is an issue.

I like the stock wheels on my SS. Also, 21" tires are more expensive than 20s or 19s.
