2019 2SS 1LE
So I'm considering trading in my 2017 Charger Scatpack for a 2019 2SS 1LE. For those of you that have small children how much of a pain is the car with the lack of size? Do you regret buying a car with such little space? I know it is not a daily driver for many of you. I have an 8 year old and a 4 year old. My wife has a 2019 Ford Exepedition so we wouldn't be taking the camaro for long road trips or anything. We don't even take the charger for any kind of road trips. Also, how is the car to drive in the winter for those of you that use winter specific tires? I would never drive the car in snow so I'm not worried about snow performance. I don't even drive my charger in the snow. I live in Northern Virginia so winter can be hit or miss on how bad it is. Thanks in advance.

The backseats are fairly comfortable, the window is just very low. As long as you are under 5'8", the back seats are just fine. I'd imagine you wouldn't have any issues with children.
You must use winter specific tires if you see temperatures under 40 degrees. The 6th gens work great in the winter using the snow/wet-traction mode. I drove a 5th gen through a few rough Michigan winters and survived just fine. A 6th gen will crush it in comparison. Hope this helps. |

If I had 2 kids, I'd never get the Camaro unless they were hardly being put in it. The Charger would be 10x more convenient. Egress/Ingress and the sad rear seat room would make me regret trading in the Charger after a week.

i've had my camaro for about 5months. Since school started, my two kids 5, 7 spend about 15-20min in the back seat. It's not that bad, but i'm short, and i have the seat moved up. That's really the test, if you can drive the car with the seat moved far enough forward that there is leg room in the back, then you're good! I'd also add, i find the large size of the car more annoying then the lack of space, but i'm coming from the bmw 1 series.

If you're a midget or a midget is the primary driver of the vehicle, the back seats will be usable. If you're tall and the seats are back, forget putting anyone back there.

The scat pack is sorta on the same plane as the SS.
I regularly pass 392 SCAT on the track i must say, in OEM form. ...just for reference. Pick your own priority!

I drive three kids to school 5 days a week in my Camaro, no problem. The 14 year old sits up front with me and the 9 and 12 year olds sit in the back. No complaints.

Thank you all for your replies. I'm 5'6 and my son has no complaints when the dealership let me take the car home for the day and I took him for a ride. I rarely have the whole family in the car. When we do go anywhere as a family we take the SUV. We had a Durango before the Expedition.

Yeah, taking my 16 month old out and putting him in is a little time consuming, but not that difficult. If we had another kid though, I'd be trading in my 1LE for a Hellcat Charger.

buying this car, for any shade of utility, is silly.

I agree just trying to get some opinions from owners with kids. The family car is the Expedition. Even if I don't trade the Charger in the Expedition gets driven the most when we go anywhere as a family. Other than taking the kids to school practice etc when my wife and I have to split to take each kid separately to their practice, we are in the expedition.
