Here's the dealer jack point from my last visit that I saw. This time they used the front aluminum arms instead of the steel, which you can see the rubber puck Mark's on. Havnt had any damage yet. I did buy the lift add on I am going to put on this summer.

Jacking by the aluminum shear plate is asking for trouble. It's pretty thin aluminum and doesn't seem suitable to me for jacking purposes, but I guess they've dispersed the load over that puck so you might be OK. if you try that jacking just from the front corners alone, I think that will buckle.

Are you using the quickjack pinch weld blocks? Can you get a close up of how whatever pad or block you’re using sits against the bottom of the car?

I've moved on from the jack stand dance and picked up a Quickjack from Home Depot for $1100. Ordered the BL-5000 EXT then called and canceled the order and got the BL-5000SLX, I think the standard one will be more flexible on other vehicles and also weighs less. With the money I saved I picked up the extension kit to turn it into an EXT, and the SUV kit for the truck. The standard one will pick up the Camaro fine with the rearmost front pad, I use the aluminum clamp on lift points in all three positions. I purchased pinch weld rubber blocks but ended up just using the standard blocks that came with the Quickjack. Very pleased with it so far. [IMG][/IMG]

I'm glad I don't drive my Camaro in the winter because the cars that are those pinch welds will be rusted so bad you won't be able to jack up the car using them.
