Forgive my naivety but I missed the joke. Are they saying that because it's belt driven you lose a 100hp or that you only gain 100hp?

The poster in the picture admits to it taking 100hp to drive that blower. The bigger the blower the more power they take to spool up. But the smaller blowers can't hold much top end power. And when you have a stock motor with cast pistons that can only handle so much force, you don't want to waste 100hp of it running your blower.
