I just got a pair of PS4S in the stock SS size. I think they also run narrow, ill have to get some pics since they look very narrow. They look a lot better on the new mustang with the PP1 package, but the Michelin specs says the same as the stock goodyears.
I kind of wish I would have tried a 285 or 295, I guess the edges just have a larger radius. |

Anyhow, I have heard nothing but positives about the grip you get from 4s, even if its a narrower footprint. Wider is not always better.

The initial testing I did before it got cold, when it was around 50-60s sun shining on the pavement, was pretty good. I also noticed the 1-2 short shift that I never noticed with the goodyears I guess since they were spinning through 1st.
The shifting is another issue and the 8L90 seems to have a mind of its own when determining what WOT rpm to shift at. I also got my best 0-60 time with the timer at 3.8 seconds when I could only get 3.9 seconds before with the stock goodyears. I also got my camber from -1.3 to -1.5 in the rear down to -1 on both sides, but apparently that is the maximum I can get, so that's a another issue, but eventually I want to go even more camber to try to maximize straight line grip. |

Here is the front and rear in the stock size, they do seem to be a lot narrower than the good years and other tires.[ATTACH][/ATTACH]

My Goodyear's are nearing the end. Love the stance of the OP's setup! I wish Michelin would bring out the PS4S in more sizes as i'd prefer the gen 4 tire to the PSS, assuming they would fit in a 295/335. From looking at pics of them they may not.

I bought this set up earlier this year when it looked like the 335's were being discontinued.
I put the 295's on front and they fit fine. I do not believe they have rubbed anywhere at all. They are definitely quite a bit wider than stock. I told the guy that installed the 295's on my front rims I was bringing the 335's in for the rear. He highly recommended I did not mount the 335's on the 11 inch stock wheel. Too wide for that wheel. Even when I told him I heard on the internet they would fit fine Well I compared the 335 to the stock tire and got a little worried. Got a few things going on and can't be without the car so I got on Craigslist and found a nice pair of 305/30/20 ss for a deal. I put them on and I do not see how the 335's could fit. The 305's are tight as can be on drivers side rear. Inside front of the tire. I know there is a wiring harness there that people have relocated. But it still looks extremely tight. Cant even fit my fingers between the tire and inner liner. FYI, Mark

I know it's been a while. Have you ever measured the section width of those 335's on the 11 inch wheel. My 325's measure 12.75 on 11 inch wheels. I use 2 steel squares together to make an outside caliper to get an accurate measurement.

Guys, this conversation is hurting my head! the issue with rub on the rear fender liner is not about offset or section width - it's about tire diameter. A stock 305/30/20 is 27.2" in diameter. A 315/35 is 28.7", which is why people who try to run those get rubbing on the fender liner. The 335/30 that the OP is running splits the difference at 28.0" tall. It is probably very close to rubbing, but it may not rub. That's believable.
The problem with the OP's tire choice is that Michelin's recommended rim width for the 335/30 is 11.5-12.5". He's pinched it onto a wheel that is a little too narrow for the tire to work and wear at its best. It won't be the end of the world, but it isn't ideal for function. Also, a taller tire raises the car's CG and roll center and this will hurt cornering and braking performance a bit. Again, not the end of the world, but not ideal for function. If one is more concerned about looks, then so be it.
