After nearly 4 weeks, I finally called the dealer and was told 3 of their mechanics drove it, and "this is basically just what they do". I'm not sure if that means they didn't experience the symptom, or they did but there's no fix. I find it a little hard to believe they didn't come across this TSB...

I loved the car at first, but I must say it's losing its luster amidst all this hassle.

I had the Triple Flush done per the TSB yesterday. They told me to drive it for 200 miles but the shudder was still there, I left the dealer and 2 mins into the drive the shudder was there. Is that normal or should I take it back in?

Drive it for 500 miles before fast adapt learning actually finishes. Not sure why they are saying 200 miles. After that the hard shifting between most gear should stop. The shudder will be back in 2000-5000 miles, there will be more clutch material floating in the fluid for another flush to evac until GM has a more permanent fix.

If you already have the more severe problems with bucking, delayed lockup, etc those will not go away with a flush, because your transmission is already dying -- like mine.

They won't do anything else until you've driven at least 200 miles. So, do that. If it's still acting up, schedule another appointment and take it back to them.

I called my dealer before I had even gone 10 miles to schedule another appointment. He said I needed to drive it 200 miles before GM would agree to any additional measures. I told him "I can put 200 miles on it before tomorrow. Setup the appointment!" Unfortunately, he couldn't get me on the schedule until a week out. So, I took a bit more time than "that day" to put the 200 on it. But, once it hit 200, I quit driving the car, I was so frustrated with it... :dunno:

I will say (and I hope I don't regret saying this), that it has SO FAR been ok, since the new TC.

I should get my car back today after they do the flush. I am going on a fun run Saturday so I can put some miles on it and see what happens. Fingers crossed.

Well, I got the car back on Saturday, and it felt fine on the way home. Sunday on the way to breakfast and the mall, it was worse than ever (and I was already bummed at having to go to the mall). At parking lot speeds with light throttle, the 1-2 upshift felt like getting rear ended, and the torque converter shudder was like rumble strips. Do people really think this is normal? How can it be "just how it's calibrated" if they don't all do it?

Car is at the dealer having TC replaced. I will update on if it does the trick. Even with the new TC I’m still going to get a range to disable the AFM. I don’t want to tune and void warranty just yet because of this issue.

Also had the “fix “ done for the a/c with the windshield pull. Don’t waste your time. Still fogs up

So, mine's not the only one that does that... AND the "fix" doesn't fix it. Awesome.

Tc replaced. Drive from the dealer home was smooth as butter. Now to order my Range and hopefully prevent any damage to the new torque converter. Lol

SHUDDER IN THE RAIN

I was driving in RAIN today and I had an intermitted vibration that felt like driving over the rumble strips. This is the first time that I have felt this. I think it was mostly at low rpms when accelerating. I drove last weekend in the dry and didn't feel anything. I have 2500 miles on a 2017 Camaro 2SS A8. I hope I don't have the same issue.

@VADER332

That sounds like you do have it, unfortunately. We have to hope the solution GM is coming up with by Q1 is going to be a real, lasting solution.

Thanks for the reply. Oddly enough, I drove the car today and didn't experience the problem today.

I am taking the car to the local GM dealer on Friday so they can look at it. The service tech I spoke to said they had a Camaro last week with the same issue. They did some type of tranny flush to see what happens. It seems the GM service dept is aware that this is a common problem now.

On mine, when it was acting up, I could 'make' it happen pretty much on-demand. Lightly accelerate (not enough to downshift, just a gradual acceleration) on a slight incline.
