Accessory power tap for 2nd 12V outlet

I don't like the look of the wires coming out of the phone charge adaptor sticking out of the 12V accessory outlet on top of the center console. I'd like to add an additional outlet somewhere unseen under the dash where I can plug in a dual adaptor and run the wires under the console to the sides of the seats where they will be easy to access and can be tucked away when not used. I see on on few posts that the center console can be lifted to tap into the purple wire connected to the existing accessory outlet. Does anyone know if this circuit can be accessed more easily under the dash to avoid the need to pull up the console?

What about the outlets inside of the center console?

I have a USB drive with music on one, and the other I use when I want to hook up with android auto. And that leaves nothing for my wife's phone.

Have you considered connecting a USB splitter to one of the ports inside the center console?

You can access the wiring in the center console by just pulling the shifter bezel off. You can also ease running wires by pulling either side of the console "skirts" off.

I connected power there for my forward-camera monitor.

Thanks! Anyone know of any previous posts that show the correct way to pull the bezel off?

Using a trim tool, pry the bezel from the console around the outside edges. It comes out straight up. I think there were six clips, three on each side. If you have an auto trans, you'll need to shift out of park for easiest access.

See step2 in the .pdf file at the bottom of this post. I used two pieces of duct tape in the vertical section around (in front of) the parking brake button. Using this method it easily pops right out with no tools. The plastic trim tools I had weren't quite optimal for the job and I was worried about damaging the plastic bezel with the tools that I did have handy.

Thanks vtirocz, I like that duct tape move. No chance of dents. Any idea how easy it is to get to the accessory power wire with just the bezel removed?

It's easy, but you need to get the wires into/out of that area. Pulling one of the side-skirts back is pretty easy, except for the front clips.

Follow-Up: Prying the bezel out from the rear end is not a good way to do it. Insert your trim tool between the parking-brake button and the bezel.

How exactly did you get to the accessory power? I’ve got the bezel pulled off but see no way to get to the accessory power
