they will replace the whole divider. takes about 2 minutes, including signing the paperwork.

I would pass on the fix. the new and "IMPROVED" part fits very loosely at the top any suitcase or duffel in back of trunk bumps it, It will fall down and you have to open trunk and reattach it to allow top to lower. Never had that issue with the original divider...

Unless you're experiencing a problem with your divider keep it and refuse the recall (you can choose). The new divider doesn't work as well as the original. They swapped mine when I had it in for an oil change without telling me until it was already done. If I had known how bad the new one was I would have demanded getting the original divider back.

Mine was done when they prepped the car for me back in September. I have noticed a few times where the divider fell down, especially when something heavy is in back of it.

Although I have not tried yet, I'm wondering if a small rubber band (something like they use for braces) wrapped around the knob that holds up the divider would help. Maybe give the divider something to hold on to.

I took mine in for trans shudder and they replaced mine.. I asked if i could have the old one they said no. And yes it does not stay attached near as well as the original. It easy falls down. But i was having issues lowering the top sometimes.

Took mine in for the trans shudder as well. Did not do this until I went to pick it up from the dealer so wondering if they replaced it on mine without telling me. So while still there had them look into the divider falling off due to the grommets not holding tight.

They replaced the grommets and the new ones do not hold the divider close enough for the magnet to engage. As a result I still cannot move the top up or down unless I position it just right. As soon as I drive ti slips out of position again. Dealer was shaking there heads at the issue as well wondering why they did it that way to begin with.

Will be looking into bypassing the sensor when I get back from traveling this weekend.

Why would the replacement parts fall down and the new ones on the 18's don't fall down? You would think the 18's would have the same part as the replacement parts put on 17's
