Mobil 1 0W40 Dexos 2 in Canada

I have my first HPDE with my 1LE coming up next weekend at Watkins Glen, and I've been trying to find the recommended 0W40 or 5W40 Dexos 2 oil for track use. It took visiting 4 different dealerships in the GTA before I finally got my hands on the new Mobil 1 0W40 ESP Dexos 2 oil. I was mostly met with blank stares everywhere I asked. One thought he could get it for me, but when I went to pick it up, it turned out to be Mobil 1 0W40 FS European Car Formula. Eventually I was at least able to get a part number from Addison Chevrolet (I had the US PN, but nothing comes up with that number in Canada), but they had no stock and it would be 7 to 10 days for delivery. However, they were able to direct me to Wilson Niblett Chevrolet in Richmond Hill as the only dealer in the GTA with stock in any quantity. I bought 12 liters. They should have about 20 left.

The Canadian PN is: 88865710

Note that this may be a temporary PN. In the US, they have one PN that is temporary, for GM dealer sales only, and another for general retail sales when the oil has widespread availability later this year. The bottles I picked up have a sticker on them that says "For Professional Use Only. Not for Retail Sale."

Hopefully this helps someone out!

List is $22.15. He charged me $19.95. I asked if he could do any better, but he said no.

Has anyone in the GTA been able to get the 0W40 ESP oil recently? I've had some on order through Gateway Chev since late July and they still haven't been able to get it. I'm wondering if it's under a new part number now.

The oil finally came in! Same Mobil 1 Dexos 2 ESP Oil but the part number has changed. It is now...

PN: 19368925

I was also informed there's a "performance" filter available. AC Delco Ultraguard Gold...

A big thank you to Travis at Gateway Chevrolet in Brampton for tracking the oil down and giving me a great price on it!

I use Valvoline 5W40 Dexos 2. No issues getting it at Napa. I also prefer it for warm starts (summer). The new Mobil oil is to put GM dealers back in oil changing biz. BTW 5w30 will still do a proper job for DD. Much cheaper too.

Hi Nigel, i service my car at Dave Stevenson's shop in Port Perry. I believe he gets the oil from Napa. Not sure of the precise cost per se as we always do other fluids as well at the same time. If you like i could find out for ya tho. Cheers!
