two of my videos from this sunday. Very last run of the day in drying conditions. Layed down a 65.5 with a cone somewhere, watching the videos no clue where. this run was a 65.8 staying away from a few cones to get a clean fast run.

both videos are the same run

^^^^ Nice Driving! Day 2 was a lot more fun.

For the 1LE guys on square 305s, do you think the car is too loose? I sort of expected it as the Re71s are narrower than the stock goodyears in 305 but definitely wider than the 285s, but I didn't think it would loosen up this much.

I ordered a front bar to try but was wondering if the rest of you felt the same. Maybe my hands are just too slow and I need to do a better job of keeping up with the car.

I feel the car would be better with more tire in the rear.
That it where traction is lost 1st and pretty easily IMO.
But, in A Street, there isn't an option for more tire right now.

Yeah unfortunately thats the cards dealt in a 1LE. I bet a larger front bar will work for sure if your car is really that tail happy.

Honestly my car felt fine and if anything pushed more than i wanted. Dont forget running at the end of the da in that heat isnt helpful lol.

We made the budget choice to keep 20's and went with the 295s and the car is a handful now. Making some alignment changes hopefully before this weekend's local, but definitely before Bristol. I'm losing a ton of time catching the car and having to drive overall more conservatively.

That does look like a handful!

Might have to make a different post on sway bars because I feel like the 1LE bar is larger than most aftermarket bars...

I have the strano bar and I feel like i recall on its stiffest setting its about the same as the 1LE bar.. but i cant remember.

Anyone know if bfg is releasing new 19 inch tire sizes in the rival s. There was chatter about that on here early this year and haven’t seen anything new. I run cam c in 1le and currently have 295re71 on stock 20 inch wheels and I’m a little concerned after hearing what you fellas are saying about the re71 square setups The stock good years worked pretty darn well and I was hoping the Bridgestone would at least be equal but I have yet to run because still finishing up motor build. Was hoping to run bfg rival 335/18 rear and 305/19 front. Thanks Ben

No idea what happened with the rumored BFG.

I am considering the same budget-based approach. Was it faster with the RE-71r's versus the stock tires even if it is more of a handful? With heat in the tires, was the looseness mitigated?

Heres a video of my quickest run at the 2 day CCR SCCA event at zmax drag way in charlotte. Had a much better 4th run going before I got into a pretty good slide and took out a bunch of cones... oops.

Videos from this weekends two day Milwaukee region trip pod challenge where Chicago, milwaukee and Minnesota battle it out for the Helga trophy!! Top two will be the fast runs from each day.

The bottom video is from a bracket race we had setup with the top 16 drivers from each heat. We used to run it on overall pax numbers but since its a local for Milwaukee the other regions didn't always have the numbers to compete. This year we took the top16 driver from each heat and had them battle it out! Similar to a match tour but it was one run for each battle.

Day 1

Day 2

Bracket Challenge

So I'm one of the guys running square 305 RE71Rs and though the car is definitely much more tail happy now I don't think it's too loose. I actually prefer it now as I think it's easier to rotate the car with the throttle.

As for Stephen here and the other guys running the 295s on the stock 20s I think it's just not quite enough tire in the rear. I'm going to get with him at one of the next local events so he can put a few runs down in my car to see if it's a big enough difference between running 295/20s and 305/19s (which I'm pretty sure it is). Stephen has much more experience than me so I trust his input more than my own.
