Hesitation/Hiccup/Blip on rev-up in neutral???

Just bought a new, leftover 2017 Camaro, V6 M6 at a great discount (31% off list). Every time I rev up the engine in neutral or with the clutch engaged I get a momentary short hesitation or hiccup/blip that I can hear and feel. The rev-up is not smooth! Upon take off in 1st gear, like you would do at a red light, a few quick revs then take off, I get this short hesitation/hiccup every time. This makes the 1st gear take off not as smooth as it should be.

I took it to my dealer who checked it out and the technician said there were no error codes etc... and thats just the way they are! I should have insisted that he test drive it but he didn't seem too interested in going beyond hooking it up to his test equipment. I plan to go back and discuss with the service manager.

So, wondering if any V6 owners, manual or automatic, notice a hesitation/hiccup/blip (for lack of better terms) as you give your Camaro a quick 20% rev-up in neutral, in your driveway or at a red light.

Guessing most, if not all of you, rev-up smoothly in neutral as one would expect!

Mine does it. But I have a V8. I think its just the software protecting the driver. Doesn't happen when I turn off the nannies.

I don't have anything to turn off or change, that I know of, except for traction control & driving modes which have no effect on reving up in neutral. Its not a problem on heavy throttle but an annoying delay/choke on light throttle rev up before engaging the clutch leading to a hesitation on take off. Starting to think its getting too much airflow or gas is too lean etc... Thanks for your response!

I have an M6 SS. I can tell you there is definitely a bit of throttle lag. It feels like the first quarter inch of gas pedal travel isn't really registering, or if it is, it's jumpy and not smooth like you described.

This is the perfect sports/muscle car in my opinion but that is one thing I do not like about the car. Idk if there are any tunes out there that address this or any other solutions.

Taking it to the dealer today, starting to think oxygen sensor problem, don't have the problem on start up when cold, becomes more apparent after a minute or two as the O2 sensors warm up! Will post the results.

The M6 has the famous bog when launching hard (I believe that can be defeated with practice), but I get no hiccups like you described.

Throttle response is also very good in Sport mode. In Touring, it's a little lazy, but that's by design.

My 1SS M6 had the same throttle lag and so did my Gen5 1SS M6. Used to drive me crazy and almost got me T-boned when making a turn against a dump truck. There was also a throttle "dead spot" in 3rd gear that would happen from time to time. My 2SS A8 on the other hand, [which is tuned for optimal performance with AFM OFF] stepping on the pedal is like hitting a nerve. Immediate response, possibly dangerous if a pedestrian was crossing and you didn't see them...which is why throttle lag is built in. You can burn rubber without even trying.
