FWIW my 2017 Impala MyLink has a feature for software updates....Not sure exactly how it all works, it's all new to me, but a few friends that have seen mine were very impressed with the mylink nav, etc, compared to what they are using....I'll be lucky if I can figure out how it all works before I ever need to worry about updates...lol...

The 6th gen Camaro has that too, needs a WiFi connection to download updates. I still remember getting update which added a bunch more apps to the "store", and to my vehicle (deleted all of it, it's not exactly Google Play).
Honestly I'm pretty happy with Mylink as it is - plenty snappy, good resolution, between it and Android Auto, all the stuff I need on the road. |

So what new features does this 2019 infotainment system have over the previous release?

I was wondering about that too. An update for the system to reflect the new changes would be nice. If only the auto world would take to updates like Apple, update all devices based off of the latest and greatest. To a degree of course, cant update to a point where the hardware cant handle.

My buddy has a Chevy SS, and the infotainment system sucks. I'm just glad we didn't get that version.

I understand adding small changes every year to entice buyers to go for the newer year model but I wish there was always an option to but the stuff from Chevy for your older year car. Especially these software updates on old hardware.
Like how the 1le and Zl1 have shift lights now. Best you could get in 2016 was a fully loaded 2SS. No shift lights.

Yep, I’m sure someone will figure it out somewhere. That I’m sure you can get a unit and install it into our cars.
My deal is I wish the HUD could have more options. Like the Nav one is completely useless if you don’t have the Nav option. Either let us have CarPlay or Android Auto displayed up there? |
