Which spare tire setup are you using?
I switched from runflats to non-runflats.
I am looking at this sort of kit: https://modernspare.com/product/2016...ncluding-case/ What are you using for your vert?

I have a 2018 SS with run flats. I am thinking about buying a spare tire. Don't like the thought of driving on long trips with no spare. New Good year eagle F1's run flats are over $2k. When these are done thinking about buying non run flats for $1k and buying a spare tire.

Why not just get a puncture repair kit and an electric pump.

That’s a possibility too. It just doesn’t guarantee I can fix the tire. Further, I am concerned about the potential damage to my car should I need to be towed.
Which kit did you get?

Where do you keep this in the car when the top is down? Backseat?

As for inflator, check on Amazon. A lot of good inexpensive units with good reviews. |

Don’t know. I was hoping someone on the forum already had an answer...besides staying on runflat tires, since that is a dealbreaker for me. They can’t handle any more power than stock.

I can only imagine getting the car off a trailer would be really bad for my front chin splitter. But yes, a flatbed was my first thought.

I would use the plug kit first, but if that does not work, I have the sealant kit as a back up. The sealant kit includes an inflator. The sealant kit comes in a pouch that fits neatly under the trunk floor in the large rectangular opening in the foam structure. I keep the plug kit in a box that also fits under the trunk floor.

Run Flat vs. Non-Run Flat
I have a 2017 Convertible SS. I recently replaced the F1's (with 3,000 miles on them) with a set of Michelin Sport 4S. I felt the F1 tire was to rigid. I bought a very good 12V compressor, a can of fix-a-flat, and a plug kit that also comes with a CO2 inflator. I love the Michelin's. Burt just to be on the safe side I'm also a member of AAA.

I just bought the setup from modern spare.
I will see how it fits in the trunk. I may get the fix a flat stuff in case I am cruising around town and if going further, will throw the modern spare in the car.

I haven't seen a shipping date yet. I will ping them today just to get an idea. Will post when I get a response.
