Also those "free" car washes they offer you at the dealership when you buy your new car, this is how they do it!! I NEVER had mine done there back when I bought my Camaro new. I went around the back to the detail bay and saw them washing a Camaro this way and said OH HELL NO!!! NEVER,, lol... Wash my own thanks..

Always one in every thread. Guess you chose to be it for this one. I haven’t seen it posted anywhere else and even if I did I can repost it. Move along.

Yeah, I may be stopped at a light and see this travesty going on. I just shake my head and tell my car "Don't worry baby, I'll ever do that to you".

Totally agree with you here 1JEWLDSSRS. When some of my family members go and get there car washed at the dealer(because it's free), I try to tell them, but I'm just that nutty car guy in the family so it is what it is.

This is the first winter I actually stored my Camaro because I bought a winter car. It was in decent shape mechanically and rust free but the paint was a mess so I got a cheapo paint job to make it look decent. Unfortunately winter came up before I got a chance to wax it. There are no hand car washes in my immediate area so I had to resort to the local $5 car wash. I wish I could really show you the damage those car washes do - I have light scratches all over which obviously came from washing it. Now I know this was a cheap paint job but it’s amazing how bad these washes can be for your car.

$1000 paint job or a $10,000 paint job will be the same. Car washes and car wash brushes are a clear coats nemesis. In your case a level one paint correction will probably fix that.

Yup, won’t be hard to make it look better, especially since it’s not black like my other cars but it can wait until I have time before fall - time to drive the Camaro! But I’ll definitely seek out a DIY wash next winter.

Buying $100 worth of pads and a buffer was the best money I ever spent. I do it a few times a year and car has minimal swirling. I don’t go hot or heavy into it (except one time when I compounded and clayed the car when I first got it).

People use those brushes to clean their undercarriages of there trucks those brushes have that be pure grit and rocks.
