A10 grade braking

I have a 2020 ZL1 and the 10 speed auto. I previously had a 2017 SS with the 8 speed auto.
The 8 speed had grade braking and it would downshift to hold rpm around 2200 to slow the car and it did it regularly on a steep hill by my house. The 10 speed doesn't seem to do it at all or if it does, it's very subtle.
My question is does the A10 have grade braking and if so, is it tuned a lot less agressively than the 8 speed?

I have noticed a few times in the short 700 miles I have on the ODO so far, that there will be grade/transmission braking. I am not sure if limited to specific drive modes or what, but I have noticed it a few times now on my 21 SS.

I'm not sure about "grade braking" but if I understand what you are describing, then I'll say the A10 seems to not do well in this regard.

I have a '17 ZL1 A10. When I drive back and forth from VA to WVA with cruise-control on, I notice the car will hold speed nicely going uphill, but on the long downhill grades, I'll gain +5 to +9 mph over what the cruise is set at before I start riding the brakes to avoid a speeding ticket.
