I haven’t replaced my battery recently. It was a couple years ago.

P0641 CHEVROLET - 5 Volt Reference Voltage Incorrect.

If you get reduced power, and those three lights come on at the right side gauge,
you should have codes. That one you listed means the 5V reference signal is
incorrect. That's a short to ground, or short to voltage.

Most of the time, it's going to be your Accelerator Pedal or MAP sensor reference signal.
The pedal interruption will cause low power mode. If you were to unplug your accelerator
pedal harness, put the car in gear, the lower power mode pops up immediately.

Got my car back today after 1 month. Performance shop couldn’t find a problem, they took it to the dealership and they couldn’t find a problem. It has been drove about 80 miles and they can’t get it to go into reduced power. I go to pick it up today and as soon as I crank it up it goes back into reduced power mode. The performance shop guy told me the only difference is they reinstalled the engine cover yesterday and never moved it again. It was off the entire time they had it. We pulled the cover off and the code cleared. We looked for loose wires/ loose grounds and I have looked at everything for about 2 hours today and haven’t found anything. Guess my search continues.

It might be time to consider replacing the wiring harness.

Where in Alabama are you? If it's doing it consistently now, it might work to go through the trouble shooting steps in the service manual, and I can loan you mine.

I'll try and remember to see how good the trouble shooting steps are for the P0461 code in the service manual.

is the code set in the fpcm or ecm?

p0641 is 5 volt Reference 1 Circuit

The 5 V reference 1 circuit provides 5 V to the following sensors:
Manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor
Fuel tank pressure sensor
Accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor 2
Engine oil pressure sensor
Air conditioning (A/C) refrigerant pressure sensor
Camshaft position sensor

It may be possible to locate the fault by disconnecting one component at a time from the affected 5 V reference circuit while viewing the 5 V Reference Circuit Status parameter on the scan tool. The scan tool parameter will change from Malfunction to OK when the source of the fault is disconnected. If all 5 V reference components have been disconnected and a fault is still indicated, the fault may exist in the wiring harness.

hope this helps

Thanks for the info. I’ll see what I can figure out. Ready to have my car back to normal.

Replaced my accelerator pedal sensor about a week ago. I’ve drove it 3 times with no issues yet. Maybe that fixed it.

Well.... it is back, I’ve drove it about 5 times with no issues. Back to trying to figure this out.

Put my scan tool on my car today. The only code that it was throwing was the P0641. I disconnected the six sensors on the circuit one at a time to see if the code cleared. With all sensors disconnect the code was still there. I re-connected everything and rescanned the system. This time there was a p0107 (map sensor) as well. Supposedly the performance shop installed a new sensor and it didn’t fix it so the put the factory one back in. Should I replace it or continue to look for something else.

After almost a year of no problems I now have this problem again. Supposed to leave for Camarofest first thing in the morning. Looks like I won’t be making the trip. The car will not crank at all which is confusing since it should still run.

Red face Reduced Engine Power

I bought this car a little more than a month ago. It has always seemed to take a second to crank, but otherwise fine I just assumed that's how it starts. Friday I left work and a StabliTrac error came on, I just continued to drive it. Then check engine, Autozone hooked it said bad O2 sensor said it wouldn't cause harm. Then got Reduced engine power low oil pressure it shut down, added oil still no pressure, changed oil pressure sensor drove it. Get back in and will not start Engine Power is still reduced. I don't understand, getting my dream car has become a little scary
