Sunroof will take away from headroom without a doubt. A Camaro is a Camaro either way. It’s more about your preference, are you someone who’s got to have a sunroof in your cars? From what I’ve seen the sunroof operates just fine, it does slide up and out it doesn’t slide down and in between the roof and headliner. I couldn’t live without NPP on a 6th Gen. the Non-NPP is certainly quieter and more of what you would expect from any other stock V8 vehicle. Adding options, if there is anything that you want that likely couldn’t be added later get it in the order and think about the fact that that some things will be cheaper when included in the build versus later on. As an example Recaro seats are a $1,500 option but to buy them later on $2,500 per seat.

I like the sunroof and I'm 6'2"...Works fine...I've got dark tinted windows with a slight sinister look all buttoned up.. But there's days where the windows are down, sunroof is open, and the cruise takes on a whole different experience...I like options... As other have stated the sunroof gets you a smooth factory roof panel and you lose those lines but not many have noticed I need to point out the difference to even camaro owners...

I noticed absolutely no difference in headroom going from my SS 1le without a sunroof to my zl1 with a sunroof. I've never been a fan of then at all and was against it but the zl1 I found just happened to have it. I'm glad it does it because it feels awesome af to roll with the windows down, sunroof open, ac flowing and ventilated seats on. Feels like getting sloppy toppy after she's drank a cold drink.

A sunroof was a primary consideration for me, I have passive claustrophobia and want to see the sky. I'm 5'10 and don't have a headroom problem with it. Added bonus, another downforce creator when it's fully open...

Wife asked me yesterday when we went for a drive if I miss the sunroof.
Kinda do, but I do like the added headroom. I almost always wear a hat, just not on all the way, & it used to rub the roof panel all the time. Not any more. Haven’t tried it with a helmet as of yet. |

I have a vert, and when I see the roof line of the coupe with not sunroof, I am envious of the look…

Interesting thought on the downforce, but I have a suspicion it's more adding drag - if anything, it's bouncing the air off the roof higher and missing whatever decklid spoiler option you have.

I'm in the no sunroof camp, the reverse mohawk roofline was too good to sacrifice, and I hardly ever use the sunroof in our cars that have it anyway. Maybe once a year, if that.
The Camaro doesn't feel cavernous to me at all, it's a sports car with a cockpit ambience that I like a lot. I set the memory recall to move the seat back and up for egress automatically, so when I enter the car and push the button, the seat moves to down and forward, into the appropriate "pilot position" So I hardly ever even thought about missing the sunroof—all the more because I'm personally no crazy about cleaning roof glass, it's quite a chore with all the gunk, no matter where I live.

To get a sunroof depends on your personal preference. I personally don’t care for them but that’s just me. Some folks like them in their Camaro so my feeling is if you don’t get one you will have regrets about your new Camaro purchase. Buy what you want because the Camaro is on life support at GM now and we really don’t know when the 6gen will be gone.

Don't pass on the NPP exhaust because of weight. It consists of two actuators that couldn't weigh over a pound each, and two additiinal, ~ 10" pipes with tips. There's no way the entire setup adds over five pounds. It's a nice option, and dramatically improves the looks of the rear end as well, imho.

Some will say placing 30 pounds on the roof is the worst place to add weight. But the very slight performance degradation is nothing you could notice. Also the M6 and NPP are musts for me. NPP sounds better than any other exhaust on gen6 Camaros and let you regulate the volume. And in any setting there is NO drone. Add a CAI for the best sounding Camaro ever.

I love my power sunroof.
But it is about what do you want. Would you use it? We do, and that is all that matters about this choice for us. |
