Just realized I've owned mine for over a year but never used NPP. Must not be important.

Providing it’s still functional, & not tuned out, you’ve been using it whether you realize it or not.

The Chevy NPP system is made by the Ford Motor Company.

Unless you pulled the fuse, you did, every single time you drove the car.

Of course the supplier makes it to the specs GM tells them too, but of course the NPP rattle is probably the fault of Faurecia and not GM.

I know there was a member on the forum a while ago that said they worked for the company that supplied the NPP exhaust.

NPP is a great system, love the sound. It gets everyone's attention when I remote start my ZL-1.

You and others have missed my point - other than taking it thru stealth, sport and track modes the first week I owned the car to see how it worked, I've never subsequently adjusted the exhaust noise from the touchscreen inside the cabin.

I did the remote start and remote top from a distance when some kids were around the car. When I walked up one of the kids yells "Is that a transformer?!"

Great stuff!! 😁

The stock NPP is only loud for the first few seconds of startup due to Rumble mode. After that it is pretty tame...almost too tame for a NPP. The Corsa NPP system is tits. Mild to Wild, then you really appreciate the function of being able to change the sound of the exhaust by over 12db.

Going back to Fran's question, my daughter has a Dodge Challenger and always liked my NPP over her stock system. So she just had a Borla Attack system put on, and came over to compare. Still thinks my NPP sounds better...

The company that actually designed and manufactures the Camaro exhaust is called Faurecia. My uncle worked there until he retired earlier this year, and the Camaro was one of the cars he worked on. He tells me his name is on the patent (among others) for the flapper valve gizmo that makes the NPP exhaust do its thing.

https://www.faurecia.com/en

As far as I know, they don't sell aftermarket exhaust systems in their own name, but I'd be kind of surprised if there's no equivalent to the NPP system available for the Challenger - that's kind of a ubiquitous feature on performance cars these days.
