NPP exhaust tip material?
I searched the forums but couldn't find anything on this. I'd like to polish the exhaust tips on my NPP exhaust. It looks to me like it's stainless steel, but the polish I have (Maas metal polishing creme) says to avoid using on brushed stainless steel (like appliances). The exhaust does have some brushed look to it so I wanted to check with you guys to see what you'd recommend.

I’ve been using this since owning the car. It works well. I’d use what you have and don’t see any issue why it wouldn’t work.

I've been using Blue Magic metal polish on my NPP tips with great results. The tips get black soot on them fairly quickly, so I've cleaned them numerous times and they still look new. A little bit of this stuff goes a long way, so the small 7 oz. jar should last for years.

Most metal polishes say not to use on brushed stainless because they polish out the brushed look and just make it shiny stainless

Thanks for the extra info! Makes sense that a polish would change the shine like that.
The Blue Magic stuff sounds promising - it says it contains no abrasives, so I'd guess that it would clean without changing the finish. Win-win! |
