JL 10" Sub Install Pictures (passenger)
I took the SS back down to Custom Sounds and they took some measurements for me. I finally decided to go ahead and get that passenger side box built for my 10"JL sub. I gotta tell ya...it's a whole new ballgame when you have two subs moving that air. The 12"JL on the driver side was nice. But, the added 10" brings me back to the 02 SS when I had both installed.
I LOVE the new sounds. PLENTY of bass...and with the bass blockers in the highs?...sounds perfect! |

Nice!!!! Can you elaborate on what you used to block the base on the rest of the speakers in the system, I just recently added a 12" sub using the ******** Enclosure and want to pull everything about 120 or so out of the factory system to just let the sub handle it all.
Thanks in advance....

I would be pissed over the scratches on the underside but I would be happy over the job. Looks good.

Aghhh....I did the scratches. Yep. I haul a bunch of stuff in the trunk on a daily basis and there's my metal ticket book holder that sticks up. I guess the holder shifted a few times back there and scratched it up. I don't let it sit in the same place any longer...but the minor damage is done. Luckily, you don't see it all too well. |

Some of us don't get take home cruisers, lol...although I do get my own car, so my stuff just stays at work, lol.
Btw, a cheap alternative, same thing actually, is instead of buy BassBlockers, just buy the corresponding resistors for Radio Shack. Way cheaper, exact same product. I'd have to go find the info on what resistor amounts to what cutoff frequency.

Amp - $380 (or so...from what I remember years ago)...you can get a 500x1 JL amp for $299 now at Custom Sounds on Christmas sale. Prices obviously dropped over the years. JL 12 - $250 (you can get on sale for $199 now) JL 10 - $200 (you can get on sale for $149 now) Amp kit $100 Left box $250 Right box $225 Speaker shields $20 each so... Purchasing over the years, about $1,500. But, it's an investment. JL lasts forever. |

It can happen, but usually in a situation a bit closer. Also, it probably wouldn't be audible to human ears, most likely just able to be picked up by mic. Running two seperate size subs attempting to duplicate the same frequency range can lead to issues, to trained ears. In this case here, I doubt he notices, lol. He just seems to be enjoying the bass!
