Plastic pieces on each side under splitter
Do most people find that these things scrape on driveway aprons? Car is stock ride height without lowering springs.

Mine don’t usually scrape unless it’s a really steep approach, but I was considering a set of lowering springs and wondered if that ~1” makes much of a difference in the front end scraping.

Not anymore on my car, I took them off. They also hit curbs that the splitter itself clears when parking a bit too close in those 45° spaces.

Yes. Since we’re on the topic...what purpose do they serve? I notice a lot of cars have these in front of the tires. Some even have them in front of the rear tires. Are they there to redirect airflow for some reason?

Mine scrape every day coming in and out of the driveway. Thankfully they are very pliable so they can take the beating.

Lower air deflectors. Supposed to direct air around the tires at high speed for stability.... I believe.

Mine do scrape on my driveway apron, but it's fairly steep. They're flexible and take the beating well, though. They don't really show any damage or look worse for wear.
On this note, I'm considering removing them for winter. They do serve a purpose, but I'm worried about driving through snow and having them be little "plows" that eventually snap off. Anybody have experience with this? |

It is for drag reduction. This article explains it pretty well:

I took them off when I did my first DIY oil change because they got in the way of the ramps - that was a couple months ago, and I haven't missed them since.
