one of the first thing you v6 guys need are hd timing chains,, the v6 chains are only lasting 10,000 to 40,000 miles before they are needing to be replaced because they are stretching so bad!! we have even seen several vehicles on there 2nd set of gm chains in less than 60,000 miles

and even a few with broken chains/ bent valves

I thought that was on the Caddy and the minivan engines. I had heard the Camaro had an upgraded chain...

If your looking for LLT cams with VVT delete you have to go "Down Under" to the Aussies doing Holden racing for those ATM.

Did they list different part numbers for each application on that bulletin?

I did a search on Google and there are quite a few incidents on different forums where the timing chain has stretched or broke.

Great...so about this chain stretching issue....How am I going to know when my chain is streching and about ready to do some damage?? (if any...I know nothing about this lol). Will there be a CEL...or will it just go out all of a sudden?

Just wondering what to expect. Hoping this is part of the longer powertrain warranty than just the 3 year one.

Well, Im past your 10K mark and coming up on the 30K. Guess i'll find out here shortly. I use mine as a Daily Driver of 100 miles a day. With all the "weekend rides" ,with my younger son and daughter, i have racked up 29K in 14 months. This year wont be so bad with the wife getting her new SUV but i will hit 30K likely after the holidays. Cross my fingers and hope for the best.

wow that just shows how much us V6'ers got screwed! they can send a man into outer space but god forbid they let a v6 be FI. and i know that GM can afford to tweak ALOT of things on the new camaro overall, but instead they want money to keep on pouring into their pockets from customers, after receiving their tax money to keep their company from going under!! where's the customer appreciation?!! lol

Timing chain

First off does anyone know if there is a bulletin on this issue. Stretch leads to break and It is obviously an interference engine. This is bad news!!
