As an Asian guy that has always loved muscle cars and owned numerous Camaros and Mustangs. I'm glad the Japs are still building performance cars. Still a ricer though.

400Z with the mid or premium trim will be really nice sports cars. Problem is that those configurations will sell for $50K+. It is embarrassing that the base model 400Z comes with an open differential. LT1 camaro or even a mustang gt are a bargain in comparison to 400Z. The appeal of the 400Z is they are easily tuned with FBO to about 500rwhp, but any more than that and MANY expensive parts need to be upgraded. Definitely not for me, it's overpriced so I will pass.
I much rather have my superchargerd LT1 AND $10K+ in my wallet vs just having a new stock 400Z.

i'm glad they're building them. they will be great street cars with easy, reliable power with very few mods.

i've looked at buying one. wouldn't sell the camaro.

Camaro is the standard that all pony and 2x2 cars will be judged by. It is a shame that GM isn't giving the Camaro the care and respect it deserves.

I suspect stock for stock my 1LE will walk away from this car on the straightaways and embarrass it through the curves.

Not to mention this guy is full of it. When he shows that shallow, narrow trunk (yes the opening is bigger) and claims it has more space than the Camaro? Clearly BS.
Lol pretty sure new Z will will run low 12 stock with the auto. Doubt they will come out with a car after their main competitor Supra and not at least match specs.

Exactly and it's also why Toyota is now rushing out to put out a manual Supra. They could care less about a car on its final legs or a 4500lb boat from Dodge. The only real American threat they'll have is the S650Gt coming from Ford.

Agree with you.

Still, you know as much as we do, if the magazines wanted to do a cool all out comparison with the Supra vs Z vs Mustang GTPP vs Camaro 1LE vs Challenger the 1LE would best the Z in pretty much all performance metrics. I'm not saying the 1LE would win the overall pick...but performance...yep.

Would depend on what metrics they decide to use. Honestly out of all those the Supra would probably take the cake. We won't know anything really on the Z until summer when people can get their hands on them.

I have gotta say, I cant wait to see modified Z cars on the road. Imports always have some cool Racing Inspired Cosmetic Enhancements. I would rock this slant nose for sure.

(I wouldn't part with muh V8 though...)
