Good news, surprised tho.

I haven't seen a 2019 on a road yet in Phx.

Is there a breakout of how many of these were left over 2018 models?

They changed the order system for the 2019 Challenger and made it a bit more confusing. Before, they had like 10+ "models" to choose from which were really just combinations of options packs. It was a long list for sure, but you always knew exactly what you were getting just by model name alone. Now, everything is a-la-carte. I was pricing out a Challenger T/A 392 and I believe the price went up by a couple thousand because you now have to start the order as a Scat Pack if you want a 392, and then you add the T/A appearance package onto it. You end up with more features actually in the end this way, but it's more expensive.

That, and there's no real appreciable difference between the 2017, 2018, and 2019's (besides the aforementioned overhaul to how options are ordered and some colors changing. Other changes may not matter to most buyers: The Demon going away, a minor update to the Hellcat, and some widebody offerings on the SRT 392.) Dealers are not offering any markdowns or incentives on the leftover 2018 inventory. Most are asking full MSRP in my area for the "fun" cars -- T/A 392, Scat Pack, SRT 392.

In summary, the sales boost Dodge saw after the Challeger refresh and after introducing some of the "fun" cars is dying down naturally because nothing has really changed in about 3 model years now. Unless they do something dramatic, sales will probably continue to slow down until they stop production in the early / mid 2020's (they'll be force to due to CAFE requirements.)

Good to see the numbers are in line with the others and a tick up. I would hate for this platform to go away again. I want to see a GEN7, GEN8...........

Does the sales of 2018’s come into play here? How many of their Q1 units sold were 2018 left overs and how many are actually 2019’s sold if that is total new units sold regardless of lefteover or new 2019.

i saw one stripped base model at walmart. looks cheap compared to the base 2018,
and i saw one convertible SS two blocks from my house. i've been looking at all the website of every chevy dealer in the phoenix area in the last 3 months and the 2019s aren't moving at all, so i dont know where they are selling.

good question Bluephoenix

and in the Mopar community the rumor of the return of the 426 Hemi replacing the 392 has got people starting to wait and see for 2020. 19 will be slow.

By the looks of the two local Chevy dealers near me the 2018s and a few 2017s are sitting while the 2019s are selling .Chevy may have to offer real big sales on those 18s to move them and send the 17s to auction .
