Car Feels Really Bumpy!
Hi guys and girls,
I have new 2016 Camaro 2LT with the RS package from the dealer.. And I noticed that it feels really bumpy when driving. Is this normal or could there be something wrong with my new baby? i have 2014 Mustang that is really smooth ride than Camaro. I can feel every bump in the road and in steering wheel. I have 20 inch wheels. What should i do to make it smooth or less bumper? Thanks for the help!!! |

It will get better as the suspension settles in, however this car is very stiff and has run flats so it is what it is. After driving it for 5 months now it is no longer an issue for me. Upside is it handles like it's on a rail. I love it!

your tires may be inflated to the max ... which is good for mileage but not great for ride comfort. I keep mine around 30psi all around. Took a couple 5 hour long road trips (after i was lowered on eibach springs even) and the ride was great.

Depending on how new your car is. The ride will get more comfortable as it breaks in properly. Plus the 20inch wheel can be a factor since they're huge

If the problem doesn't go away with tire pressure, have your wheels/tires re-balanced

The Mustang wasnt a bad car but its NO where close to the Camaro. This is my first Chevy ever and this is right up there with some of the best sports cars I have ever owned. This Mustang was nothing close even with a rear end gear swap and another $1000 thrown into mods.

just an fyi as well. That extra 50 bucks for AAA may be redundant as many insurance companies offer most of the same services included in your policy already.

I've had several GM sedans in the last 10 years, and all of them were MUCH better riding than the Camaro. I would definitely describe it as harsh.

The suspension is stiff. Coming from sedans or most other vehicles will seem potentially harsh. Coming from other good sports cars, probably right on par. That's the price of admission to sports cars. Now I think the OP was really questioning whether their ride feel was "normal" or abnormal and they didn't have another 6th gen camaro to personally test. The mustang just gives context. My guess is, that mustang doesn't take turns like his camaro (assuming the mustang gets enough traction to not careen off the road into a crowd). |

I would describe the ride as "harsh" also. I'm hoping when I get rid of the run flats there will be improvement.
Of course, I'm coming from a diesel Ford F250, a very comfortable ride.

surprised no one mentioned the spring coil stops (not sure the right term/name) when cars are shipped?

This car is stiff and the sensitive MRC picks up bumps(even in comfort/tour mode) but also makes this car steer on rails in turns. As other say, this is not a sedan it is a sports car.
