Great. Now I'll have to do mine as well. I agree with you... +1...

Guess it depends on your situation. For me i can care less about the weight as i don't track my car. As for the sound i feel the NPP sounds good enough to me even when compared to aftermarket brands for what its worth. Painting the muffler can black is not like you are painting you brand new cars hood or something LOL

Here is the paint I used. Got it at Advanced Auto Parts. Any black high temp paint will do. I also used the same paint to black out the inside of the exhaust tips as I got tired of them having the sooty look all the time.

Any tips on doing a clean job and not getting spray paint elsewhere?

Wow-tripped across this old thread!

I did these few things to avoid overspray. I put an old sock over every exhaust tip. I taped off with paper the valance panel between the exhaust tips and then I was careful about where I aimed on the sides of the muffler to avoid over spray onto the bottoms of the quarter panels. I put an old rug down to lay on and to protect the garage floor. I didn't really worry about overspray on the undercarriage area around the muffler. No one will ever see it and if you take your time and are careful with your aim you will not get much overspray.

Four years later - it still looks good. Do it - it was easy.
