I'm back!
After selling my 2010 Camaro (see sig for details) in June 2014 - I couldn't take it anymore and went and bought a 2016 1SS Hyper Blue, Ash Gray interior, 6 MT, NPP and 5 split spoke gray machined wheels.
It was a quick decision to buy and a lucky find. I started my search last Wednesday by emailing 10 Chevy dealers looking for exactly what I bought (colors and options). I didn't think there was anyway that a dealer had one or could find one so I was prepared to order. By 5:00 that day the car I bought had been dealer located about 125 miles away by three of the local dealers. I pitted them against each other and by 7:00 the deal was done. I got the car for $1200 under MSRP and signed all the paperwork on Thursday and by Friday at 4:30 pm I was driving it home. Later this week it goes back to have silver rally stripes added. I've only driven it a 100 miles so far but this thing is eighteen kinds of awesome! It is way better than my 2010 even though I modded the heck out of that car. I'm down a little on HP versus the 2010 but I have no doubt it is just as quick and sure handles a ton better than the 2010. The NPP is amazing in Track mode - almost as good as my old car's ARH Headers and muffler set up but with no drone. I will not be performance modding this one. I have a sad tale to tell about the old car where I learned you really have to pay to play. If anyone is interested I can get into that later. But this is enough for now except to say I have also missed Camaro5 and now have Camaro6

Great input.. That's how I'm feeling about modding the car other than some atheistic.. I will probably go Borla or some aftermarket just to make it more mean sounding, but I can't see myself doing too much to an already perfect car.

How do you feel about "downgrading" to a 1SS model? Are you happy with the cloth seats vs leather, etc etc?

The 2016 has so many standard features (especially the infotainment center and the dash electronics) versus the 2010 that about the only thing I might have wanted from the 2SS was the leather and HUD (if that's standard on the 2SS - I don't know). I'm good with my choice. The cloth seats are just fine. Plus I'm back in the game for $37600 (including the yet to come rally stripes). I chose not to get into the 40K plus world for the 2SS - more than I wanted to spend. For what its worth - I paid $36500.00 in 2009 to buy the 2010 (don't get me started on how much mod money I spent after that!). I'm getting way more car for only $1000 more - leather seats or not.

Very nice car...I remember you from Camaro5 and your very sad fairwell to your old Camaro. I moved away from Camaros to two Corvettes in the meantime and now have my 4th Camaro.
Glad to have you back and good luck with the non-modding attitude. I said the same thing as well and just ordered my third mod, albeit very minor stuff...lol.

Well, I probably will do some small appearance mods. Got to make it my own somehow. I've already pulled that big hunk of plastic off the top of the engine. What a PITA that was. I had to cut 10 zip ties, remove four bolts and unplug a solenoid just to get that center silver part off. For me the bare intake manifold looks better than the plastic. I might paint those ignition coil covers blue to get some color under the hood.

Congrats! Welcome back! I was away for a while after I sold my '98 SS a few years back, but so glad I am back. Toyed with the idea of a Corvette, actually had a C6 on order when they came out, then had a 2010 Camaro SS on orer but the dealer shafted me, so here I am few years later with my 2016 SS, couldn't be happier! Good luck!

Have fun with your car and again, welcome back. Incidentally, I don't miss the 6M Camaro, very difficult car to track at the drag strip.
