It's easily doable if GM wants to do it.

If a hypothetical LT6 is based on the LT1, it'll be less expensive due to parts sharing. The LS7 was an easy $6,000 more than the LS3

If GM were to forgo the CCB's and Trofeo R's, but keep the DSSV's, use 6 Pot Brembos and something like MPSS's on a 19" wheel then I could see a $55,000 Z/28 instead of the $75,000 sales turd that the Gen 5 was/is. It wouldn't have the absolute bleeding edge performance that the Gen 5 was (and frankly needed to be to dispel the image of the Camaro being a failure in all forms of performance) but would easily compete with and best a GT350 of all trims, including the R.

That would price it less than a GT350TP and a lot less than a GT350R. Win/win

I still say the safer money is on a hotter 6.2, ala LS1 to LS6 as we've been debating in the "vs" section for a bit now.
I'm still going to guess a 7.0L with DI. Your guess is quite possible as well. But it would mean GM gave up on the N/A motor they were working on for the Z06 altogether. That would be a ton of R&D money down the drain.

I think they just dialed back the HP a bit to make emissions and are going to use it in a GS and Z/28. They could have used the LS7 as a starting point, and added DI (and a few other things I'm sure).

Interesting.. I just traded in my C6 GS over the weekend for the 16 SS... I wouldn't have thought Chevy to roll out a GS this soon..

Very curious about specs and price as my 2012 4LT Auto GS, dual-roof without NPP was 74,999 on the sticker (not what I paid) and that was 4 years ago on an old body.

I don't think we will see a 7.0. I'm thinking, if there is a new engine, it will be a 6.2 but with CNC heads, new intake and a hotter cam. Maybe some tubular shorties too.
