Dealer left over pricing on 2015s?

I went down yesterday to check out/buy a new V6 2lt RS 2016 Camaro. As much as Iliked the 16 the dealer would only come down $750 off MSRP. He also had a left over 2015 LT w2LT marked at $31,998. The original MSRP was close to $35,500. The dealer said that was a Chevy Dealer left over price. Something about the factory giving them money to move it. He then said that he wouldn't budge on the price.....he then said maybe few hundred. With the 17s coming out and that being the old style I though for sure he'd move, but he didn't. i thanked him for his time and left. Anyhow what is this dealer rebate/bail out hes talking about...I'm guessing theres a reson why the cars still there.

Ok the dealer called me today and wants to sell the 2015 2LT with RS package(automatic) new for $30,600. This thing is loaded, Nav, leather, etc. Is this a good price?

A 2015 at ANY price is not a good deal...

A 2016 2LT build with RS, V6 and auto is $35,575. Considering that its "only" $5k to upgrade to the '16 I'd say your dealer still has a lot of wiggle room. Gotta remember its a two year old car now.

Agreed. That dealers pricing is why they still have a new 2015 on the lot.

Your dealer should stick that 2015 on permanent CTA status and write the damn thing off. Current value of a '15 2LT w/ less than 1000 miles is 23k. The dealer shouldn't be charging more than 25k for a loaded '15 2LT.

Even the guy that showed his dealership wants too much. That is a stripped 1LT, only worth about 19k.

Yep... Just an example....
They still want too much for that vehicle.

I see you already made your decision, but just to strengthen the point. I live in Canada and was offered a fully loaded 2 LT convert for 29 CAD taxs in when I was going around to multiple dealerships deciding between 5th and 6th gen.

Long story short I am assuming you live in the US. 30k is ridiculous for that car. Take your money to a different dealership that isn't dicking you around.

Hey guys, I just wanted to do a quick follow up. I skipped that dealership and went to another Chevy dealer, who was plain rude. So I started talking to a long time friend whos a GM at a Ford dealer. He said what you guys said that the first dealer was insane. We talked some more and I ended up with a killer deal on a new Mustang. I wanted a camaro, but in the end my kids liked the stang better.....I kinda did too
Thanks for all your info.
