called my dealer and its not in their system. If someone talks to a dealer and they have it, PLEASE get the document ID or the bulletin number. We need one of those for dealers that dont know whats what. Thanks!

Edit: Just called chevy support. They say it wont be released until the 4th and each person should receive an email to setup appointments with your dealer. She did not have a document ID or bulletin number.

Hmm I went to two different dealers today about the update and nobody has a clue about it. Even showed the article and nothing.

So I'm thinking they'll have it within a week?

It's a shame we can't download the stupid update. It's nothing more than popping a USB in Port, and it updating. When will Chevy learn like Ford did with updates?

I'm surprised that Chevy doesn't do updates via WiFi like Ford does with Sync 3. Taking a trip to the dealer for crap like this is irritating.

The wifi is part of OnStar, not the infotainment mylink system. OnStar is connected to the Internet, and those kind of networked systems, with the poor security currently implemented in cars these days is how the Jeep got hacked.

I'd be much more comfortable having to throw a thumb drive in and doing a konami code with the pedals than any of the car systems directly connected online. This dealer nonsense is annoying though.

Never seen a customer brick their Sync doing the update themselves have you? I've seen it a few times. Never underestimate the lack of "tech friendliness" some people have lol. Also I would never try to update over WiFi vs a physical drive. What happens if your signal craps out or internet goes out in the middle of it? Hopefully Ford programmed it to just "download" the update locally on Sync before attempting to update.

GM's definition of "Now Available" and mine differ completely.

"Coming soon", "coming later this week"

Friday it is then!

Sync 3 downloads the update completely, then installs it. No fear of disconnecting.

Sure, most of us technically savvy folks could do it ourselves.

But that's not the question I think you are asking... right?

You will have to take your car to your dealers service dept. and they will perform the update.
